According to this motto, the public broadcasting station of Bavaria in Munich - the Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) - launched its own CD-label at the end of September 2009. Since then, outstanding live recordings by the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Münchner Rundfunkorchester and the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks have been released on this newly established label: BR-KLASSIK.

Recordings of recent concerts and treasures from the archives are being released on CD, SACD and DVD, among them also a number of repertoire rarities. All of them performed by outstanding artists. Furthermore, the series BR-KLASSIK WISSEN provides fascinating introductions to important works of classical music by presenting interesting background information and various audio examples.

The label is a division of BRW-Service GmbH in Munich, a subsidiary of Bavarian Broadcasting. ARION is official partner of Bayerischer Rundfunk and in charge of the label management.
